Today, just after midnight Pacific time a total lunar eclipse occurred on the Winter Solstice (December 21.) What this means for Earth’s inhabitants is a focused showering of light from the Sun with added blessings bursting forth from the Sun’s reflected light was coming to us via the full moon/blue moon eclipse.

Something interesting to note about this particular Winter Solstice and all the extra high vibrational activating energy available to us is this. When you add up the numbers of the month day and year, 12-21-2010 is actually a 9 in sacred numerology. (12=3, 21=3, 2010=3/3+3+3=9) 9 came into the universe as energizing endings and beginnings, exhales and inhales.

This big “9-ing” energy is very helpful for encouraging healthy breathing while supporting the letting go of whatever no longer serves your highest best good. So the Solstice/Full Moon/Blue Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse energies seem to be supporting the new golden light, new golden life that begins with the return of the lengthening of days, the return of the Light of the Sun.

By the way, you can access the big 9 universal energy on your body anytime with the Healing Touch Quick Step called “Completing and Beginning” by crossing your hands in front of your body and gently placing your fingertips at the bends of your opposite elbows, while relaxing your shoulders and exhaling.

Whenever the celestial energies are strong, I find it a good idea to relax and calm, stay as stress free as possible, even being quiet with soothing music. Another wonderful Healing Touch Quick Step for relaxing and calming is The Complete Breath Hug (the one you do by placing your fingers in your opposite underarms, dropping your shoulders and counting at least 36 exhales.)

My message for this auspicious Winter Solstice on a Full Moon/Blue Moon with a total Lunar eclipse all rolled up in one big ball of cosmic energy influencing Earth inhabitants as well as everything else, is LOVE. Begin with loving the ones you love and enjoy the things you love about the ones you love. (You might have to think about that one for a second or two.

I am thinking of you as my heart is feeling an expansion of shimmering golden light and knowing that millions of people around the globe are also feeling excitement around this Winter Solstice. Even if it is snowing or raining where you are and you cannot actually see the lunar eclipse or the Sun returning, you will still receive the benefits of the energies. My sense is that it is even better energetically for Earth’s living web when the celestial energies come through the atmosphere carried on precipitation.

Remember, the word “solstice” in astronomy, means either of the two times a year when the sun is at its greatest distance from the celestial equator: about June 21, when the sun reaches its northernmost point on the celestial sphere, or about December 22, when it reaches its southernmost point. Compare summer solstice, winter solstice; either of the two points in the ecliptic farthest from the equator; a furthest or culminating point; a turning point. And the word solstice comes from Latin “solstitium” meaning standing still of the sun, from sōl  sun + sistere  to stand still.

So while the Sun is “apparently” standing still for 3 days – the day before the Solstice, the day of, and the day after, I am sending you inspiration to celebrate the return of the Sun after the shortest day of the year. Here are the words to one of my favorite Barbra Streisand songs, “At the Same Time.”

Think of all the hearts

beating in the world

at the same time

think of all the faces

and the stories they could tell

at the same time

think of all the eyes

looking out into this world

trying to make some sense of what we see

think of all the ways we have of seeing

think of all the ways there are of being

think of all the children

being born into this world

at the same time

feel your love surround them

through the years they’ll need to grow

at the same time

just think of all the hands

that will be reaching for a dream

think of all the dreams that could come true

yes if the hands we’re reaching with

could come together

joining me and you

when it comes to thinking of tomorrow

we must protect our fragile destiny

in this precious life there’s no time to borrow

the time has come to be a family

think of all the love

pouring from our hearts

at the same time

yes think of all the light our looks

can shine and grow this world

at the same time

at the same time

yes think what we’ve been given

and yet think what we could lose

all of life is in our trembling hands

its time to overcome our fears

and join to build a world that loves and understands

it helps to think of all the hearts

beating in the world

and hope for all the hearts

healing in the world

there’s a healing music in our hearts

beating in this world

at the same time

at the same time
